RMO recently relocated its global headquarters to Franklin, Indiana, and employs over 80 employees in the USA. We manufacture and distribute over 25,000 unique products to the dental profession under ISO 13485 MDSAP and European MDR standards, serving customers in over 90 countries globally. Our subsidiary, RMO Europe, located in Strasbourg, France, supports the European orthodontic market with 40 employees.
Position: Packaging Team Lead
Job Overview: The Packaging Team Lead is responsible for providing directions and troubleshooting in the packaging group over a packaging line. This is in addition to the highest-level knowledge and skills within the areas where direction is being given.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understands internal customer needs and meets expectations.
- Knows the daily schedule and performance targets and meets expectations.
- Maintains the highest level of packaging skills.
- Identifies personal development needs and seeks training to fill gaps.
- Understands packaging standards and how to modify processes to meet standards. Ensure standards are being met.
- Guides others in the packaging work group, including troubleshooting problems.
- Assist or replace operators when necessary; maintain an efficient process.
- Notify Supervisor or Lead Person of disciplinary or performance issues.
- Provide input to the Supervisor or Lead Person on recommendations for fostering morale.
- Ensure complete compliance with ISO 13485 and other registrations within the plant if necessary.
- Experience with ERP software is a plus; Bilingual (Spanish) is highly desired.
- Environmentally controlled facility.
- Able to operate equipment identified during on-the-job training.
- Perform identified quality inspections as required, and report non-conformances and deviations to supervision or quality as they occur.
- Review equipment, tools, and work instructions for safety and calibration prior to operation.
- Report concerns with documentation (including, but not limited to: work instructions, procedures, and routes) to supervision/quality.
- Fill out documentation completely and legibly.
- Perform duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read prints and drawings.
- Ability to measure parts using micrometers and calipers.
- Possess the skills and safety awareness to OrthoAmerica & OSHA standards.
- Thorough understanding or the ability to quickly learn parts, labels, and packaging.
- Attention to detail.
